Anirudh “AK” Kota
I have enjoyed a lifelong passion for film-making and especially cinematic editing, starting from the humble iPhone before eventually working my way up to Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere. During 2020 while trapped indoors with the rest of the world, I discovered Color Grading & DaVinci Resolve, leading me on a multi-year journey to gain proficiency in the program. I graduated from the Orange County School of the Arts Film & TV conservatory.
Eventually, I would meet Christopher Barrett and several other students at Loyola Marymount University to form Naptime Studios; a mini production studio that allowed its members to pool their talents to make film projects of their own choosing. I would gain further experience in this team setting, culminating in a feature film shot over 10 days called “Sins in Saptak”.
Due to Loyola Marymount’s resources, I was fortunate to get some experience working with Avid Media Composer & Pro Tools, increasing his efficiency as an editor and taking these lessons learned back to DaVinci Resolve: my primary software of choice. I am an eager learner; willing to get my hands dirty with a piece of tech and understand it inside and out before the day is out. I can take this knowledge that I have obtained to fulfill what any team requires of me, always willing go above and beyond to lend a helping hand.
To all artists making it in the world…Cheers!
